Alberta Immigration on 16th February, announced that it will rename its PNP as the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program and two new pathways will be added to it called the Rural Renewal Stream and the Rural Entrepreneur Stream. It also announced renaming of the three current streams, but no requirements were to be changed for these streams.

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Nominee Program is an economic immigration program that nominates people for permanent residence in Alberta. The Express Entry candidates who are nominated must be skilled, fill job shortages or buy or start a business in Alberta. This program is run by the governments of Alberta and Canada.
