Saskatchewan Immigration invited 58 candidates via the SINP for the Entrepreneur Stream on 3rd March 2022.

In the Entrepreneur stream draw, the minimum score to qualify was 80 points on the SINP points assessment grid.

Due to Canada’s current travel regulations, exploratory visits that are completed on or after March 18, 2019, will be accepted. After travel restrictions are eased, then the visits must again be conducted within 12 months of EOI submission in order to be awarded points. Candidates must have completed the exploratory visit before EOI submission to claim points for an Exploratory Visit.

Requirements of the Entrepreneur Stream:

  • Have a minimum of $500,000 (CAD) in Net Business and Personal Assets.
  • Have at least three years of relevant business management or entrepreneurial experience gained in the past ten years.
  • Plan to invest a minimum of $300,000 (CAD) in Regina and Saskatoon, or a minimum of $200,000 (CAD) in all other Saskatchewan communities.

If the candidate is given an invitation, then a Business Establishment Plan (BEP) must be submitted. Candidates cannot change their business plan after applying and cannot change their Business Performance Agreement after SINP approval. The BEP should include the following:

  • Plan to establish an eligible business that aligns with the points in the Entrepreneur Category Points Grid.
  • Proof of ownership of at least one-third (33 1/3 percent) of the equity of a business in Saskatchewan, unless the total investment is $1 million CAD or higher.
  • Show commitment to the day-to-day management of the business.
  • Creation of two employment opportunities in Saskatchewan for Canadians or permanent residents.

Through the SINP, the Province of Saskatchewan:

  • Invites residency applications from non-Canadians who want to make Saskatchewan their home
  • Nominates successful applicants to the federal government for permanent residency in Canada

SINP offers applicants:

●      Competitive application processing times

●      Assistance from provincial immigration officers who can explain requirements

The process to apply is as follows:

  • Create and submit the EOI profile
  • Enter in the EOI candidate pool
  • The Immigration selects the candidates who pass requirements
  • Invitations to Apply are then issued via regular draws
  • Candidates submit full applications within 60 days
  • SINP officials assess applications and make decisions
