Ontario Immigration issues 72 invites in its latest PNP draw

Ontario Immigration in its latest draw issued 72 ITA’s (Invitations To Apply)  through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. The invites were issued through the Employer Job Offer In-Demand Skills stream. In the September 22nd draw, 19 National Occupational Classification codes were targeted with 65 invites being issued. The Regional Immigration Pilot candidates received a total of 7 invites. This brings up the number of ITA’s issued by the Employer Job Offer In-Demand stream of the OINP to a total of 175 ITAs this year.

The occupations targeted in the draw are as follows:

In the Manufacturing category: (outside GTA only)

  • NOC 9418 – Other metal products machine operators
  • NOC 9421 – Chemical plant machine operators
  • NOC 9411 – Machine operators, mineral and metal processing
  • NOC 9416 – Metalworking and forging machine operators
  • NOC 9417 – Machining tool operators
  • NOC 9422 – Plastics processing machine operators
  • NOC 9523 – Electronics assemblers, fabricators, inspectors, and testers
  • NOC 9526 – Mechanical assemblers and inspectors
  • NOC 9536 – Industrial painters, coaters, and metal finishing process operators
  • NOC 9537 – Other products assemblers, finishers, and inspectors
  • NOC 9437 – Woodworking machine operators
  • NOC 9446 – Industrial sewing machine operators
  • NOC 9461 – Process control and machine operators, food, beverage, and associated products processing

In the Health and Agricultural category:

  • NOC 8431 – General farmworkers.
  • NOC 8432 – Nursery and greenhouse workers.
  • NOC 3413 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates.
  • NOC 9462 – Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related workers.
  • NOC 4412 – Home support workers and related occupations, excluding housekeepers.
  • NOC 8611 – Harvesting laborers.

About the In-Demand Skills stream

This stream targets applicants who have specific skills in demand in the province of Ontario.

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • A permanent and full-time job offer under the occupations included on the list which meets the median wage in the province for that specific occupation. The job offer must be in a position that is imperative to the business.
  • If the candidate is already working in the position, the proposed wage must be equal to or greater than the current wage being paid.
  • The candidate must have 9 months of cumulative work experience in the last three years in one of the occupations mentioned on the list.
  • The work experience must be paid and full-time or the equivalent amount in part-time work in Ontario.
  • Seasonal work does not count for this stream
  • Must be educated up to the equivalent of Canadian high school education or higher.
  • Must possess a valid certificate or license at the time of application for any claimed work experience that requires it.
  • Must have a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4 in English or French in all language competencies.
  • Must live abroad, or be working, studying, or visiting Canada on a valid permit
  • Have the intention to settle down in Ontario.
