Syed Khan – 16 September 2021,

The British Columbia immigration invited 464 candidates via its British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program in a total of two draws. The two draws, a general one and another targeting two specific NOC codes 0621 and 0631 were held on September 14.

The additional draw was held to balance the needs in all sectors of the labor market due to a high number of people registering in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System in specific occupation categories. This second draw was conducted under the SI and EEBC categories.

The NOC codes 0621 and 0631 are for Retail and Wholesale Trade Managers and for Restaurant and Food Service Managers respectively.

In the general draw, 365 invitations were issued through five streams, and the minimum score was 69 – 90. Meanwhile, in the NOC-specific draw, 99 invitations were issued from four streams, with a minimum score of 105.

The list of cut-off scores for the Skills Immigration subcategories are as follows:

  • Skilled Worker: 90
  • International Graduate: 77
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 69

The province of British Columbia issues invitations every week, so far it has issued over 8,500 invitations, including some specifically targeting candidates working in the technology sector.

The Skills Immigration category consists of five subcategories, they are:

  • Skilled Worker Category
  • Healthcare Professional Category
  • International Graduate Category
  • International Post-Graduate Category
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category (This is the only SI category that does not apply to candidates in the Express Entry system)
