The Nova Scotia Immigration invited 22 candidates via the Nova Scotia Nominee Program in its latest draw held on December 22, 2021. In the first draw, 22 candidates were invited via the Entrepreneur Stream and 2 candidates were invited through the International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.

The minimum score required to qualify for the first draw was 119 and for the second it was 53 points on the grid.

About the Nova Scotia Entrepreneur stream:

  • This stream targets candidates who have ownership of a business or have senior management experience.
  • The candidate must be a resident or must be living in Nova Scotia
  • Start a new business OR buy rights and ownership of an existing business
  • Actively participate in the day-to-day management of that business.
  • The applicants are first issued a temporary work permit before applying for permanent residence. This is after they have participated in operating the business for a year.
  • The candidates are invited to apply via an EOI

To qualify the candidate must have:

  • An Expression of Interest (EOI)
  • The invitation to apply from the province
  • Give an in-person interview and Agreement of Business Performance
  • Must possess a work permit and business establishment in Nova Scotia
  • Request for Nomination
  • Applied for Permanent Residence

The candidate requirements are as follows:

  • The candidate must be 21 or older.
  • Wish to settle permanently in Nova Scotia while owning and actively managing a business in the province.
  • Have a minimum net worth of $600,000.
  • Make a minimum investment of $150,000 to establish or purchase a business in Nova Scotia.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in actively managing and owning a business (should possess minimum 33 percent ownership) OR have more than 5 years of experience in a senior business management role.
  • Have a score of a minimum of 5 on the Canadian Language Benchmark test in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English or French.
