Ontario Immigration invited over 173 candidates for the Ph.D. Graduate stream under an Express Entry draw held between 23th and 28th February.
The minimum score to qualify was 16 points on the grid. The Ph.D. Graduate stream gives international graduates with an Ontario Ph.D. degree the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in Ontario.
Requirements of the Ph.D. Graduate Stream:
- The candidate must graduate from, and complete a Ph.D. degree program from an eligible university in Ontario. The course duration should be at least two years full-time.
- At the time of application apply, the candidate must be either: living in Ontario with legal status (study permit, work permit, visitor record) OR living outside Canada. Applicants from candidates living in a province or territory in Canada other than Ontario will be rejected.
- Must have a minimum level 7 or above in CLB/NCLC in English or in French.
- Candidates must have legally lived in Ontario for at least one year in the past two years before they apply, i.e., 2020-2022.
- Candidates must intend to live in Ontario after they have been approved for permanent residence.
- Have sufficient funds to settle down in the province.
